Regular Swimming Pool Maintenance

Establishing a regular pool maintenance routine is essential to keeping your pool safe.  The key is to keep the pool clean, the water chemically balanced, and the equipment running.  If these things are neglected, you are looking at not only costly long term consequences, but also potentially dangerous consequences as well.

The best idea is to establish a weekly routine to clean the pool, maintain the chemical balance, and to check the equipment.  This is a routine that must be followed religiously if you want to get the most out of your pool. Taking care of a problem before it happens, not after, can result in a huge savings. Repairing a cracked or corroded pool is an expense you should work to avoid.

So, what are the risks associated with not having regular maintenance scheduled?  To name a few: unclean water that leads to different health risks, poor water circulation and filtration components failing to function, slippery tiles from algae growth that leads to pool accidents, and so much more.

At the end of the day, if you have a pool, regular weekly maintenance is only saving you money in the long run.  It helps to keep your pool running for you to enjoy it safely whenever you like.  If you neglect to have your pool cared for regularly, you are probably looking at very costly repairs and unsafe conditions.

In addition to regular maintenance, you may need extra care for the following issues:

After heavy thunderstorms

After a large group swims in the pool (following a party)

If you notice a smell coming from the pool

In the case of extreme temperatures

If swimmers notice skin irritation or red/burning eyes

Algae growth

Water that appears murky or slimy
