We wanted to keep our customers informed regarding the pool industry this summer. Currently, like many businesses and industries, there are some supply chain issues to be aware of. There is a huge chlorine shortage, but we are doing our best to get chlorine and rationing it out so that all of our clients get their pool sanitized on time and as they need.
The shortage started last August, when a fire sparked by Hurricane Laura destroyed the Louisiana chemical plant that makes most of the country’s chlorine tablets. Additionally, as a result of the pandemic, there have been an increase in backyard pool builds which has exacerbated the situation by spiking demand. The shortage has caused the price of chlorine, which has remained pretty consistent for the last 20 years, to double.
Additionally, equipment and other cleaning equipment is in shortage and/or back ordered. We want our clients to rest assured that we are doing our best to accommodate our clients’ needs when something breaks down and are committed to giving you the best service possible.
